Acclaimed first generation rock music journalist Ellen Sander dropped by (via Skype) to discuss music and life with Rick and his DJ buddies, Thomas Smith and Jim Lehrman at KVNF. Ellen seemed to have been at all of the important places and events that shaped 60s music culture. From Greenwich Village to Monterey Pop to Woodstock and Altamont. Writing for Rolling Stone, NY Times, Saturday Review and many other music publications, she was at the forefront of establishing intelligent and in-depth rock journalism. A new, updated version of her classic book Trips, which covers the cultural and musical explosion that happened in the 1960s, is in the works now and will soon be released by Dover Publications.

Here (in the sidebar) is the full interview which runs around 54 minutes. Lots of fun stories about her experiences with The Doors, Led Zeppelin, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, plus a lot of insight into the era. Check it out!
